This year’s (2024) CUUL conference is running under the theme: Transforming Libraries and Information Services for Sustainable Development.

Some of the key take  for the day were picked from the key note address, speech by the guest honor as well as submission from panel discussions: 1. As Librarians we need to support research in the attainment of SDGs. 2. We have the ability to transform for Sustainable Development and this we can do using various tools including AI 3. We need to make technology work for us in our work and not vice versa 4. We need to note that not all SDGs apply to our situations ie Ugandan government adopted the policy of localization, focusing on food security, education, youth empowerment, human rights, Science and Technology. Therefore, researchers have to be strategic and focus on SDGs. 5. Librarians should repackage information by translating content to meet local community needs 6. We need to offer inclusive services to cater for the different user needs. This could be the library spaces as well as the resources. 7. Finally, access to information is a human right and that implies the importance of Librarians.
