The effect of human resource training on employee performance of an organisation.Literature confirmed that training of manpower is a major prerequisite for any organization that wants to achieve maximum productivity through the efficient and effective performance of employee. An employee can only perform better through the acquisition of skills, knowledge and ability from training program. This study attempts to find out whether Informal Human Resource Training has any implication in job performance, behavior, attitudes, skills, knowledge and achievement of the goals of a business organization.
The objectives of the study were to: assess how on-the job training affects the performance of employees in Mukwano Group of Companies,examine how off the job training leads to high performance of employees in Mukwano Group of Companies, evaluate how apprenticeships improve the performance of employees in Mukwano Group of Companies.This study will be a significant endeavor in promoting good work environment in the workplace and motivations of the employees.
The sample size was determined on the basis of stratified random sampling usingkrejcie and Morganwere employees were grouped into three categories of staff namely: general staff, senior staff and management staff and the sample was of 44 respondents. The study dealt with a population of 50 employees and the researcher used both qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data.
The study shows that effective training leads to acquisition of skill and knowledge required for employee to perform effectively on the job. It was also revealed that training has a high positive impact on employee and reduces the nature of hazards on the job in the accomplishment of corporate objectives.
Finally, the paper made recommendations, which aimed at improving the job performance of employees with regard to training.
